Morning Light – Personal Life – Limited Edition Signed Vinyl Copy (UK postage included)

£14.99

Aside from established UK live bands, Incognito and The Sunburst Band, Personal Life are one of the few collectives of the jazz funk fusion kind who retain the essence of the old school flavour.  I was their DJ at the Jazz Cafe album launch a couple of years ago and it was like listening to audio in your headphones but in a live venue.  The album is a plethora of soul, jazz funk and fusion juices with a polished and classy production and I was rotating their material on my weekly Soul Survivor radio shows circa 2013.  Varied in tempo and affiliated genres Personal Life embrace the influences of Joe Sample and Alphonse Mouzon in particular on ‘Rainy Day In London (A Rainy Day In Monterey)’ and ‘There’s A Time For Everything’.  Vocalist Stuart Lisbie comes from a diverse musical background mainly from the South London Reggae circuit as a singing MC but he possesses the smoothest of soulful octaves influenced from his elder soul head brother’s soulful club era.  Robert Strauss bassist, singer songwriter and producer has an equally diverse background including recording with Leroy Burgess.  If you are a true Soul Survivor you will recognise the panache of Personal Life’s artistry and will treasure this rare example of new UK Brit Funk as an addition to your collection. Enjoy… Fitzroy
