The dichotomy of this issue works in such a weird and wonderful way. One of the most requested interviews was finally secured when I spoke with radio and TV personality Tony Blackburn, a true champion of soul music despite his commercial history. Junior Giscombe had much to say about his uphill struggle and treatment from the UK industry movers and shakers and Lee Murthwaite, a music fan, talks of his dream to help the homeless with charity event. After a slight stand off due to my honest point of a review of her film, I managed to speak with Elaine Constantine maker of the Northern soul film and an intelligent conversation with Arrested Developments honcho Speech. Jo Harman chats about her rock and soul influences ahead of her Jazz cafe debut.
