Welcome to Issue 88- The Black History Matters Issue For October & November 2020
Here is our latest Black History Matters edition 88 of The Soul Survivors Magazine. It features news reviews & interviews with classical jazz, funk, fusion with a touch of soul legend Ramsey Lewis (had to give him the front cover), the late Ronald ‘Khalis’ Bell and his surviving brother Robert Bell co founders of Kool & The Gang, Canadian. ‘ Blue Eyed Soul’ songstress Samantha Martin & original East End Of London Heatwave ‘Gangster Of The Groove’ DJ Ronnie Herel. In preserving the legacy of black music and it’s culture this issue pays homage in our Roll Call Of Fame to the late Chadwick Boseman, Ronald‘ Khalis’ Bell, Edna Wright, Toots Hibbert, Sandy Anderson Of Unlimited Touch & bassist Cleveland Eaton. In our opposing Roll Call Of Shame, to the virtual backing track of Prince’s ‘Controversy’, we highlight the cognitive dissonance exercised in the industry and the black music scene, shown many so called white soul music lovers, who clearly have their own personal distain for black culture and it’s value. We still have our usual Darrell’s Funkbox, record reviews features, and a few adverts in our 88th issue. ‘Coming To You Live’ soon like Charles Earland we are still “the info provider for the soul survivor”. Spreading the love with Isaac Hayes Hot Buttered Soul on toast. Have a blessed one all
We are the quintessential ‘info provider for the soul survivor.
